Sara Lee Barron, 80, of San Jose, California, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 after a long battle with kidney failure and complications from diabetes.
Sara, wife of the late Robert Lee Barron, mother of Susan Vann (Jesse), Mike Barron, Patti Barron and Cathie Belk (Bryan), loving grandmother to Brian and Josh Turner, Noah and Hannah Belk, and her grand pups Peanut and Bella. Loving daughter of Katie and the late Louis LaRocca Sr., sister of Annie Mayo (Bob) and Louis LaRocca Jr. (Lee).
Sara was born on October 9, 1937 in San Jose, California where she lived her entire life. She attended and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1956. Happily married and devoted to Robert Barron for 54 years, until his death in 2012. Sara was also a loving and caring daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her children began high school. She than became a volunteer Teacher’s Aide at Athenour Elementary School in San Jose, California for many years until she was hired as a part-time Librarian for the school. Sara loved her job because she enjoyed reading and working with children. Sara was also creative and enjoyed painting, cooking, camping, the movies and watching TV. She especially loved the holiday season spent with her family. Sara’s children would tell her she was part of the grapevine for the LaRocca-Madonia family in her later years. Additionally, Sara cherished her music box collection started in 1980. She received her first music box from her sister, Annie. Her entire “collection of music boxes is unique and they all have a story of family and friends.” Sara truly loved them all.
