Born to Manuel and Maria Macias in La Encarnación de Diaz, Jalisco, Mexico on July 8,1926, Isabel passed gently and quietly on April 19, 2023 in Gilroy, California.
She grew up in Santa Clara County when it was truly The Valley of Heart’s Delight. In 1950 she married Manuel V. Lopez, who predeceased her in 2010. Together they raised their family in San Jose.
She loved teaching and learning, and became a Bilingual Teacher’s Aide at Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School after raising her four children.
She will always be remembered as a kind, loving and generous soul who positively touched the lives of many during her lifetime. She was a devout Catholic who practiced acts of kindness, charity, and forgiveness throughout her lifetime.
Isabel is survived by her siblings; Manuel and Hilda Macias, Joe and Cora Macias, Alice Perez, and Eusebio Macias, her children; David and Sharon Lopez, Loretta and Luis Carrillo, Cathleen Roman, Thomas and Angelica Lopez, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Dustano, Ruben and Antonio Macias, and her sister and best friend, Aileen Ruiz.
Our family is blessed to have had the Caradonna Family of Gilroy in Mom’s life and in ours. They welcomed her into their home, their hearts, and their family with love and affection. Her longevity is a testament to their devotion to Mom’s exceptional care. We owe them our deepest gratitude for their professional and personal commitment to Mom and our family.
A special thank you to Olivia, Patricia, and family, Chapis and family, Valentina and family, and all the other caregivers who helped care for our Mother. They are truly our angels on earth.
Thank you to accentCare Hospice for the care and comfort they provided Mom during her final days. And to Daniel Hernandez for his guidance and expertise as we navigated through the home health care system.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to: Alzheimer’s Association.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.limafamilysantaclara.com for the Lopez family.
