Christine Freitas Smith

Christine Marie Freitas Smith passed away suddenly on October 28, 2022 from complications due to heart disease. Her only son, Christopher, was with her when she passed. A lifelong resident of Santa Clara, Christine was a patient and compassionate soul. She always welcomed all into her home, and treated everyone like family. Christine was born in San Jose, CA to Wayne J. Freitas and Carolyn Orlando Freitas. She graduated from Santa Clara High School, where she had been on the cheer and fencing teams. She studied early childhood education in college and became a preschool teacher. Christine is survived by her husband Bruce Smith, and their loving and faithful children, Nicole Smith Von Raesfeld (son-in-law Kevin), and son Christopher Wayne Smith. Her children were the light of her life. She is also survived by her adoring mother Carolyn Freitas, and dedicated brother Mark Freitas, sister-in-law Julie, and niece and nephews, John, Felicia, and Michael.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation services on December 8th at 5:00 pm at Lima Family Mortuary (466 N Winchester, Santa Clara), and the funeral mass Friday, December 9th at 12:00pm at St. Clare Church, 725 Washington St, in Santa Clara,CA.
