April 28, 1934 - August 26, 2022
Angie was born in San Jose to Italian immigrants, Nicola Scotti and Mary Patrone. She was raised on a Ranch on Berryessa Road. She had fond memories of the rambling roses on the old farmhouse and bringing home armfuls of kittens she would find in the fields.
Angie married Joe Souza in 1952. They had three children and moved to Santa Clara. In 1963 they bought a little bakery at El Camino and Scott, which they named Souza’s Bakery. Joe was the baker, but Angie was the business woman. With little sleep and lots of determination they kept a successful business going for 38 years.
Her friends and clubs throughout her life were very important to her. She belonged to many clubs, such as Soroptimist, Y.L.I., Santa Clara Woman’s Club, I.C.F., and many Portuguese clubs. Angie always opened her house to friends and family. Cooking and holidays were the joys in her life as well as her lovely garden.
Angie now rests with husband Joe, son Larry, and daughter-in-law Michele. She is survived by her children Rick and Judy, son-in-law Don Hare, her brother Victor Giotto, grandchildren Kristin, Brandon, Lauren and great grandchildren Sienna, Nicco, and Aubrey. Also, not to forget, her beloved little dog Gracie.
We will miss the matriarch of our family.
Mass will be held at St. Clare’s Church on September 13, at 11am.
Memorial donations may be made to soroptimist.org or heartsandmindsactivitycenter.org
