Allen David Racine, age 92, of Santa Clara, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Allen was born June 23, 1930 in Meriden, Connecticut where he grew up with his brother Art, and sisters Dorothy, Shirley and Nancy.
After graduating high school Allen joined the military. He proudly served in the US Navy and the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he earned the Occupation Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Allen was honorably discharged on March 1, 1954.
While living in Modesto, California Allen raised 3 daughters, Gayle, Cynthia and Twila with his wife Nita. He gained 3 more children, Gary, Steven and Vickie when he remarried in 1976 to Geraldine Key. He was married to his beloved wife Geraldine Racine for over 33 years. Allen was Sheet Medal specialist in the construction industry for over 35 years. In retirement he could often be seen on the golf course, visiting with friends, or traveling to his vacation home in Clearlake. His dog Crickett was his buddy and brought him great joy and companionship.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, parents Arthur and Ruby, siblings Art, Dorothy, Shirley, Nancy, former wife Nita Sharlot and daughters Twila Booth, Gayle Racine and Vickie Van De Pitte.
He is survived by his children Cynthia Racine, Gary Van De Pitte (Renee), Steve Van De Pitte (Joyce), grandchildren Trisha, Stacie (Tony), Justin (Brianne), Kyle, Steven (Crystal), Kai (Monica), Krystal and Krysti. Great-Grandchildren: Juliana, Jason, Zach, Kristian, Kesi, Maddox and Gavin.
He is also survived by Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and In-Laws Dana Racine, Karen Doxsee, Marshal Jr. (Butch) Doxsee, Martin Doxsee, Adrian Doxsee, Ellen Delaney Linn, Peter Delaney, David Delaney, Brian Delaney, Nancy Jean Hayes, Deborah Nadile, Cynthia Lombardo, Fredrick Nadile, Donna Carnot, and Lisa Marie Coon.
Services will be held on Friday October 7, 2022 beginning 11am at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 North Winchester Blvd in Santa Clara. Visitation beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St. Santa Clara.
