Lupe “Lou” Castaneda, 78, a longtime resident of Santa Ana passed away at his home on May 28, 2018, Memorial Day. He was born in Santa Ana to Jennie and Ralph Castaneda in 1939, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Tustin High School in 1958 and went into the Navy. After completing Active Duty in 1961 he met and married his wife, Sandra. They were married for 56 years. In Nov. 2017 he had the honor of being present for a street dedication in Tustin honoring his Uncle, Lupe Castaneda, who was killed in WW2. He retired from Sears Automotive, So. Coast Plaza, in 1993 after 25 years of service. Then he and a co-worker opened their own auto repair shop where he worked until his retirement in 2005. He was an ardent Nascar and Football fan, enjoyed cooking, going to Laughlin, vacationing in Wisconsin and cruising down the road in his Camaro. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; son, Jeffery and his Fiancée Susan Taylor; sisters, Chris Castaneda and Lydia Buckley and brothers, Luis and Ralph Castaneda; 1 grandson and many nieces and nephews.
