Don was born in Long Beach, CA and grew up in Garden Grove. He was active in 4H as a youth and enjoyed bee keeping, eventually founding his own honey brand. He graduated from Anaheim high school, and attended Orange Coast Community College until he was drafted by the Army. He spent two years in service to his country, as a member of the Berlin honor guard.
Don attended Grace Brethren Church in Anaheim, serving as a Jr High youth leader, Sunday school teacher, and deacon. While at that church, he met the “love of his life” Beverly. They were married in 1963 and would enjoy 59 years together. In 1976, Don and his young family began attending Calvary Church of Santa Ana, where he would enjoy singing in the choir for over twenty years.
Building on his love for agriculture, Don worked at Orange County Farm Supply for 38 years. His work in sales and purchasing at the Farm Supply complemented his love of plants, gardening, and especially palm trees.
Later in life, after retiring, Don enjoyed serving in the guest helper programs at Cannon Beach, Oregon, on Catalina Island, and most of all enjoyed his service at the Sagrada Bible Camp in Missouri. Don served at Calvary Church in the “VIPS” program while his health allowed.
Don met his Savior on June 10th, 2022, one day before his 88th birthday. He was the youngest of four siblings and is survived by his loving wife Beverly, son Steven, and daughter Jolene. He was blessed to have four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His family was his passion, and his legacy is a lifelong example of dedication to service, marriage, and family.
