Darlene B. Nichols (Hillyard), 96, passed away on November 1, 2022, in Santa Ana, California.
Darlene was born in Phillipsburg, Kansas. As a young girl her family moved to Santa Ana where she grew up with siblings Joanne, Linda, Denton and Lawrence “Wade” Hillyard. She was a 1943 graduate of Santa Ana High School.
In 1948, Darlene married Santa Ana native Olen “Keith” Nichols. They made a home in Costa Mesa, California and raised a family of 3 sons, Jon, Fred, and Jeff Nichols.
In 1985, Darlene and Keith retired to Bandon, Oregon for 18 years and then to Bellingham, Washington where Keith Nichols passed away in 2010. Darlene returned to Orange County, California in 2021.
