Annie Belle Lambert (Mama) was born in South Carolina to Hattie Small and Charlie “Buster” Mitchell, who both preceded her in death. Annie was the eldest of her brother Eddie Hamilton. Annie later moved to Florida where she met and married the love of her life Willie Cefer Lambert in 1953, To this union they have six children: Terresia, Janet Lynn, Barbara Jane, Willie Alvin, Anthony and Tracy Antoinette.
Annie and Willie moved to California in 1955 as Willie was in the United States Marine Corps and received orders to transfer. Annie was a proud homemaker who loved cooking for her family. After her children grew up and moved out she would prepare Sunday dinner and expected her children to show up so that we could eat together as a family, and we did.
She loved football and vacationing with children and grandchildren in Las Vegas. She also loved cruises with friends and her husband. Unfortunately, after her health deteriorated, she could not longer cook her famous fried chicken Sunday dinner or vacation with her family. Her last family outing was a mini family reunion in San Diego that a host of family members and friends attended.
Annie is survived by her husband Willie, daughters, Terresia, Janet, Barbara (Joe), Tracy (Derrick) and sons, Willie (Tina), Anthony, brother Eddie, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Annie was preceded in death by her parents Hattie Small and Charlie “Buster” Mitchell, and granddaughter Denise Lambert.
