Ruby Lee Payne

She was born in Macclenny, Florida on Wednesday, August 16, 1939.

Ruby graduated from South Seminole College with her GED at the age of 72! This was one of her greatest accomplishments.

She was married to Richard C. Payne on August 2, 1958.

Ruby was a mother first. After raising her “young’uns”, she decided to embark on a career with both Avon and later with Publix.

She was an AVID Elvis Fan. She enjoyed crocheting, Yahtzee, spending time with her family and grandkids, fishing and LOVED fried catfish! Ruby loved Jesus and was a member of Church of the Nazarene for 48 years.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; RL & Lucinda Lauramore, Children; Cindy Payne-Towers; Richie Payne, Siblings; Bud Lauramore, Lisa Lauramore, Mitchell Lauramore and Josie Martin.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 66 years; Richard, Son; Larry (Sandy) Payne, Daughter; Michelle (Frank) Schauteet, Daughter-in-law; Linda W Payne, Sisters; Juanita Lancaster, Christine (Bill) Thompson, Jeanette (Tiny) Robinson, Brothers; Marvin (Rachel) Lauramore, Bo Lauramore, AC (Donna) Lauramore, Rich (Liz) Lauramore, Riley (Beverly) Lauramore, Tommy (Cookie). As well as five grandchildren; Shaun, Michael, Miss, Tyler, and Kaley and 16 great grandchildren.

Saturday, October 5, 2024, A Visitation for Ruby will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A Celebration Of Life immediately following from 2:00 PM to 2:45PM. A Reception from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL 32771.
