Dorothy "Dottie" Elizabeth McNutt Poole

She was born on March 8, 1929 in Butler, Ohio to Stella Margaret Hudnell McNutt and Rev. John Wesley McNutt. All of her 13 siblings, 7 sisters, and 5 brothers have previously gone on before her.

Dorothy met the love of her life, Windle “Wayne” Poole, (deceased), and they were married on

September 16, 1946. From this union was born four girls, Sandra Rosalie Alvis of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Pamela Ellen Nelson (deceased), Nancy Elaine Viau of Deltona, Florida, and Roberta Jean Abernathy of Cedartown, Georgia. Wayne and Dottie had celebrated 64 years of marriage at the time of her husband’s death.

Sandra and Gary Alvis (deceased) gifted them with 2 grandsons, Sean (spouse, Mary Jo) and Thomas Alvis (spouse, Elizabeth); 7 great grandchildren, Keilah, Grave, Brooke, Dixie, Abigail, Reagan, and Connie.

Pamela Nelson gifted them with 2 grandchildren, Johanna (Spouse, Lavelle) and Richard, and 1 great grandson, Camden.

Nancy and Robert Viau (deceased) gifted them with 2 grandsons, James and Lewis (deceased) and 5 granddaughters, Sara, Amanda, Nicole, Annibelle and Krissam; 6 great grandchildren Jacob, Ian, Brindin (deceased), Melissa, Brittany, and Irene and 3 great grandchildren.

Roberta and Jasper gifted them with 3 grandsons, Danny, Michael and David (spouse, Candace) and 1 granddaughter, Rachael, (spouse, Jermaine); 10 great grandchildren, Devin (deceased), Christopher, (deceased), Shaun, Dillon, Lily, Makayla, Tayshaunm, Jayvion, Dixon, and Nevaeh.

She also leaves behind, many nieces and nephews and thousands of cousins.

Dorothy gave her heart to God on June 12, 1983, was baptized in August and joined the Sanford (Riverwalk) Church of God. She worked as the church secretary for 20 years. She was a dedicated Christian for her entire life and finally met the Lord on February 12, 2023. At 3:00 pm, she closed her eyes on this earth and opened her eyes and there was Jesus with her Crown of Glory. Wayne and all that went on before was waiting with a marching band of glorious trumpets.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am -12:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Sanford Riverwalk Church of God, 801 W 22nd St, Sanford, FL 32771. The funeral service will follow at noon with interment to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials made to The Pregnancy Center of Sanford, 1002 S French Ave, Sanford, Florida 32771.
