She was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on November 21, 1937. She was married to Rene B. Ruiz on November 11, 1966.
Carmen Iris worked in a jewelry store in Puerto Rico prior to getting married. Once married she dedicated herself to her family in the roles of mother, wife and homemaker. She was a kind and elegant woman who loved beautiful things and entertaining; making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. She was most passionate about her family, always working to ensure that distance didn’t become the reason for the loss of family bonds among her siblings, children, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Joaquin M. Arias, her mother, Carmen Ede Arias Gomez, and her brother, Miguel Arias.
She is survived by her husband of almost 58 years; Rene B. Ruiz, her son; Rene M. Ruiz, her daughter; Larissa R. Baia, her son-in-law; Carlos Baia, her grandson; Jonas R. Baia, her granddaughter; Tatiana R. Baia and her siblings; Isabel Arias, Nancy Arias, Fatima Arias, Adria Madeline Ventura, and Gullermina Marquez.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 15 2024 at All Souls Catholic Church, 301 W. 8th Street, Sanford, FL 32771.
