Sara K. Crawford

After a long and happy life, Sara Crawford passed away peacefully on May 23, 2013 at the age of 94. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend; and her fun-loving spirit will live in our hearts forever. Born in Atlanta, Sara Louise Kelpin grew up in Inman Park before marrying John L. Crawford and raising a family in Buckhead. Sara enjoyed a 20 year career in various positions at Rich’s Department Store at Lenox Square and John worked at the Hardin Company before they retired to Naples, FL where they lived for 25 years. They were active members of the Royal Poinciana Golf Club and were very involved in the Admiralty Point Condo Association before John passed away after 64 years of marriage. Sara is survived by her daughter, Donna and Tarokh Taefi; son, Bruce and Faye Crawford; granddaughter, Becky Hera; grandson, Jeff and Cathy Crawford; great-grand daughters, Kaitlyn Hera and Rachel Crawford; brother-in-law, Frank and Shirley Crawford; and a nephew and three nieces. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Arlington Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.
