Patricia May Cleland Conn passed away January 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Vincent Conn, her parents, John and Lillian Cleland, her brothers Jack Cyril Cleland and Thomas Jensen Cleland. Patricia was born and raised in Glendale, California attending Herbert Hoover High School where she was class valedictorian. As a student at the University of Southern California she earned numerous awards, and she graduated with honors with a degree in elementary education. She was presented with a life membership in the American Association of University Women and was a lifetime member of the USC Alumni Association. She was employed as an elementary teacher with the Glendale Unified School System until 1961 when she moved to Atlanta. Mrs. Conn was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church and participated in many Church and Mt. Vernon Woods neighborhood activities. As a beloved mother and grandmother, she is survived by son, William V. Conn, Jr. and wife Dorothy Bickerstaff Conn of Sandy Springs; son, Thomas T. Conn and wife Jennifer Zoeller Conn of St. Anne, IL; daughter, Patricia Conn Plumly and husband Charles M. Plumly II; grandchildren, Charles M. Plumly, III, Emma Katharine Plumly, and William Connor Plumly of Sandy Springs; sister Elizabeth Babcock of Newport Beach, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church Music Fund, 471 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church with interment at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 6-8:00 p.m. at H.M. Patterson & Sons Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs. 404 851-9900.
