Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs. A graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Arlington Cemetery, 201 Mount Vernon Highway.
Murray was born to Dorrough and Ann Segraves on June 5, 1948. After graduating from Sprayberry High School in 1966, Murray attended North Georgia College before enlisting in the Air Force in 1967. After returning home in 1971, Murray started working at Northside Hospital, where he worked until his retirement in 2010. After receiving a degree in nursing from DeKalb College in 1973, Murray was commissioned into the U.S. Army Reserves in 1985. He served for 23 years, until retiring as a Major in 2008.
Murray is preceded in death by his parents, Dorrough and Ann Segraves, his sister, Laura Horton, and his beloved cats Etta and Max. He is survived by his two daughters, Margaret Rowlands and Deirdre Burgoyne, three grandchildren, Emily, Grace, and Thomas, two other cats, and one dog, that he is secretly very fond of no matter what he calls her.
