Marsha Jean Starr Burel Bowzard Fish of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Sandy Springs, Georgia, age 69, passed away on March 25, 2020 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Marsha is survived by her mother Virginia Burel, age 104; sisters Vicki Watts of Mint Hill, NC and Cheryl Simpson of Clayton, GA; her husband Dave Fish of Fort Walton Beach, FL; two children Shannon Kimber (Jeff) children Hannah, Lauren and Brayden of Canton, GA and Gene Bowzard of Woodstock GA; two step-children Gary Fish (Wendy), children Austin, Kathleen, Emily, Molly and Ian Fish of Portsmouth VA and Jim Fish and son Brody Fish of Destin FL. Teresa True (Pat), Dave’s daughter and family. She was adored by all her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends galore.
Marsha was born on April 11, 1950 in Atlanta, GA. She grew up in Sandy Springs, GA, graduated from Sandy Springs High School, class of 1968. She attended Georgia State College. In 1992 Marsha left her native home in Georgia and moved to the beautiful beaches of Fort Walton Beach, Florida where she met and fell in love with Dave Fish. They married on February 22, 1992. Before moving to Florida, Marsha was manager of Bank of Canton in Acworth, Georgia. Most recently Marsha was office manager of Mary Esther Plumbing for 17 years. Before that, she worked with her husband at their business, A to Z Rental Center.
Marsha’s love of life earned her the nickname “Mema”. Her smile was contagious and her love, positivity and ability to get along with everyone made her the life of the party.
She loved to cook, play cards, play LCR, garden and read. She loved to be near or on the water and beach. Marsha and Dave enjoyed playing the part of pirates while boating in their pontoon along the water ways in north Florida. Marsha and Dave’s love of the pirate life soon led them to be members of the Krewe of Billy Bowlegs in Fort Walton Beach from 1997 till 2012 where they continued living life to the fullest, and making lifelong friends along the way.
Sandy Springs Funeral Home in Atlanta is in charge of services. Due to current health concerns, a private graveside service will be held April 4th.
