Marie & Jason:  our hearts go out to you as you mourn your earthly loss and celebrate Heaven’s gain.  We’ve enjoyed being your neighbors these many years and hope you’ll reach out if you need help at the house.  We will miss Randy — yes, even the leaf blower!  So sorry to miss Randy’s service in presence but we will be with you in prayer.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Randy. We'll always remember him fondly and feel lucky that we had the pleasure of knowing him. He always brought positive vibes and a smile on his face.  I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

We love you both and are always here for you all especially during this difficult time. We will be keeping you all in our thoughts and praying for your strength during this time. Please let us know if you need anything at all.

Randy was a great friend, a great Christian, and a great Patriot ~ we will be in prayer for his wife, his son, his brother, his family, his friends, and Class of ‘65 at Druid Hills High School who will miss and long remember him.  RIP

I only knew one Randy Hicks. I'm pretty sure he whipped me while we at Druid Hills. Then we became friends.
Randy was a true friend to all he knew and if you needed a hand with something on your car to make it go fast he was there to help.
I'm not good at saying goodbye to people who are gone. I will keep the memories of Randy until one day we will all see each other again. 

Randy, "THE DANDY LION", one of a kind from school, sports, dating, partying, and even with wild fast cars, and Military we servived. We re connected after several Reuinons, and our last gathering in Aril will hold the best memory of all.

I send my condolences to the family.I grew up with Randy at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church in the 50's and 60's.I am so sorry we lost contact over the years.RIP friend.

I had the privilege of working with Randy for 17 years. For many of those years Randy was an important contributor on my sales team. There was no finer man than Randy.He brought intelligence,humility and kindness to all his interactions with colleagues and was held in high regard by me and the patient communities he served as Regional Manager at Bayer.I hoped his reward would be a long and happy retirement  but now his reward will be in heaven and God gets a great man.

I was lucky enough to meet Randy while working for Bayer. It was easy to see how well liked he was and his commitment to any issue he felt worthy. My condolences to the family, he will be missed. A wonderful man who left too soon.

Randy was one of a kind! As friends in high school we played football and were on the track team together. My time with Randy was similar to Robert Ewing’s. We ran hard and played hard. The Zesto was always the place to “check in” . As a friend of Randy having him with you on any of the “activities” initiated there always made you feel things would be ok. 

My wife Kathy and I were so happy to spend time with Randy and Marie at the recent class picnic. With his recent retirement we talked about getting together and were so glad to be rekindling our relationship as well as Kathy and Marie beginning one.  He and Marie both looked so well and fit. 

Randy’s sudden passing really hit me hard for the tragic loss of an old friend and for the sobering fact of life - we never know when our time will come.  This is a time to embrace and hold our relationship and memories of Randy very dear and to share our caring, love, and support with Marie. It is also a sobering time to embrace all those we care about and let them know we love them.

Marie, we all love you and share in your grief. Our prayers are with you, Jason, and your family.

Rest In Peace Randy

Randy, was my mate in many classes in 11 & 12th grade at Druid Hills High School.  We shared a mutual love of mischief.  Meeting often at the local Zestos we would plan our evenings events (most within the law, some not) which usually centered around speed.
Randy loved fast cars and had a few, the last I remember was his ‘59 Chevy and then a wicked fast ‘56 Chevy.

We reconnected when I lived in California then when I moved back to Atlanta. 
What I miss most....we did not get together near enough with our spouses which we continued to promise to do.

RIP RANDY

These tragic events that happen in our lives serve as real challenges to what we believe and maybe, even our faith. 

When I lost my wife two years ago, a friend sent me this. It helped unscramble some of the emotions. It is simple and direct. 

Faith is something different than wanting everything to be okay,

Faith is really YOU being okay when everything else goes wrong.

Keep your faith, and keep you're memories of Randy in your heart, forever.

Randy leaves his wife of 39 years, Marie Saggese Hicks; a son, Jason Hicks, of Los Angeles, California; a brother, Roger Lee Hicks, III, of Marietta, Georgia and his wife Donna; and two nieces, Emily Hicks of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Barbara Hicks of Marietta, Georgia. He also leaves several cousins and many friends and former colleagues.
