James Marshall Barr

James Marshall Barr, a native of Birmingham Alabama, went peacefully to be with the Lord unexpectedly while resting at his home in Lawrenceville, GA on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 78. Jim was a proud United States Air Force veteran having served in the Strategic Air Command as Crew Chief on B52s during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, Jim joined Malone Freight Lines Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama and began a long and successful career as a logistics and supply chain manager in the freight industry. Jim was a man of faith who enjoyed helping others and sharing words of wisdom and life lessons through a good story. He openly expressed a deep love for his family and an unwavering belief and support for his children and grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Billy B. Barr Sr. and his mother Rosa Lee Barr, brothers Billy B. Barr Jr., Larry Barr, Ronald Barr, Tommy Barr and sister Joyce Hill. Jim is survived by Mary Giovinco Barr, mother to his oldest daughters Rose Marie Green (Eric) of Birmingham, AL and Mary Ann Barr (Angela), grandson Miller and granddaughter Bena Marie Barr of Cumming, GA, Elizabeth Aloi Barr mother, to his youngest daughter Brooklyn Barr of Loganville, GA and his sister Barbara Choy of Suisun City, CA.

Graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL at 12:30 pm cst Friday December 20th, 2024.
