Heidi grew up in Fairfax, SC and graduated as salutatorian from Andrew Jackson Academy in 1990. She received her BS Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of South Carolina. Heidi cared for patients at Grady Health System as an infectious disease specialist and then was employed for Bristol-Myers Squibb for the balance of her career.
Heidi was passionate about food, friends, family, travel and her canine companions. She was an avid athlete who enjoyed cycling, running, swimming and hiking. Her faith carried her through her journey and she was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was an active member of Decatur City Church.
Heidi is survived by her parents Terry Googe (Annelle), Sharron Crosby (Hillard), her grandmother (Mimi) Pearle Googe, step-brother Allen Crosby, step-sister Barbara McGill (Davey), aunts Lynda McKenzie, Margie Corbin, and Tammy Rogers, many cousins, dear friends and her beloved dogs, Orie and Joon. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lester and Myrtis Jarrell, and William Googe.
Memorial services will be held in Atlanta at Neighborhood Church at 1pm on January 12th and at the Brice W. Herndon & Sons Funeral Home in Varnville, SC on January 19th at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Heidi’s memory can be made to the Atlanta Humane Society, The V Foundation and Winship Cancer Center.
