Grace was born on October 25th, 1947 in Ozark, Alabama and later grew up in Dothan, Alabama. She graduated from Judson College with a double bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry. Grace married the love of her life and became the mother to three beautiful children. She went on to become the laboratory manager at Wellstar Douglas Hospital for over 20 years, as well as a published author. Grace found great joy in spending time with loved ones, growing in her faith, helping others, listening to music, watching Auburn football, writing poetry, and being in nature.
Grace is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie Perrino and Leigh Johnson (Dominic); her sister, Toni Sammarco; her grandchildren, Katlin Pettus (Kean), Kirsten Mangrum, Austin Mangrum, Josh Camp, Will Perrino, Emmalyn Johnson, and Jaxson Johnson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Caroline Pettus and Josie Camp.
Grace is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Arthur Mangrum; her son, Chadwick Mangrum; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Bobbie Sammarco.
Family and friends are invited to H.M. Patterson and Son- Arlington Chapel, located at 173 Allen Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30328 on Thursday, August 25th at 11:00 am for a service in honor of Grace. A visitation will be held at the same location at 10:00 am. Burial will be immediately after the service at Arlington Memorial Park.
