Grace Mildred Douglas

Grace Mildred (Long) Douglas, long-time resident of Sandy Springs, GA and most recently Woodstock, GA, was born June 15, 1932 in Lawrenceville, GA. After a long illness, she went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George A. “Buck” Douglas, parents John Carl Long Sr. and Pauline Scott Long, siblings John Carl Long Jr., Harold Long, Louette Long Fuller and Lois Long Bryan. Surviving are siblings Pauline Long Ayers, Frances Long Kirby and Raymond A. Long. Mrs. Douglas, a homemaker, enjoyed doll collecting, crochet and crafts. She adored her flower gardens, taking that trait most assuredly from her mother. She most enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She supported and encouraged all her children to grow beyond humble beginnings and was always focused on their happiness despite her many medical issues and personal struggles. Surviving are daughters Vickie Douglas Caldwell of Charlotte, NC, Deborah Douglas Catterton of Wesley Chapel, FL, Sherry Douglas Boger of Woodstock, GA and George Bradley (Brad) Douglas of Mars, PA. May she rest in eternity guided by the spirit of our Lord and reunite with all those having passed before her. The Douglas family will hold visitation service and a viewing for Mom, Mrs. Grace Mildred Douglas, Thursday, April 20,2017 from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm. All services will be held at Sandy Springs Chapel located at 136 Mount Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
