Frances Bailey Rivers, 88, of Sandy Springs, died April 28, 2012. Mrs. Rivers worked as a banker and retired from Suntrust Bank after many years. She was a long-time member of St. John United Methodist Church and was active in many civic and charity organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Rivers and great grandson, Cooper Benjamin Bell. Survivors include her sons, J. Joseph Rivers, Jr., William Thomas Rivers; grandchildren, Donna Rivers Bell, Michael Thomas Rivers, Ansley Elizabeth Rivers, Amy Catherine Rivers Manzella; and 4 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 550 Mount Paran Rd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30327. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 3 o’clock at St. John United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
