Dorothy Lee Burroughs, 94, of Atlanta passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Mark and Mary Lee McDonald and was preceded in death by her brother Mark Irwin McDonald. She graduated from Fulton High School and Crichton Business College. Dorothy was a gifted musician and had a passion for playing the piano. She attended the Atlanta Music Conservatory and was employed by the Atlanta School of Ballet for a number of years and was a member of the Atlanta Music Club. She was also a member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church for 56 years, where she applied her musical talents. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Luther Burroughs, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Louise Burroughs of Hilton Head; daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Jerry Loudermilk of Lilburn and Corrie and Richard Buckley of Johns Creek; four granddaughters, Heather Ascenzo, Jennifer Hopcraft, Abby Butler, Katie Buckley; and 8 great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 7th at two o’clock at Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
