Andrew Herbert Turpin, Sr., 80, of Alpharetta passed away at his home on November 27th, 2014 surrounded by his family, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer and heart related issues. “Herb” the son of the late Luther Monroe and Amanda Turpin was born on June 23, 1934 in Smyrna, one of 2 brothers and 4 sisters. He was educated at the Georgia Institute of Technology and a veteran of US Army. Herb was a true entrepreneur and respected visionary in the business world. His true passion was his devotion, love and dedication to his family and God. His zeal for life was known by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Dorothy Jeannean; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna DuShane Kiely and Patrick Kiely of Dallas, TX, Jenay O’Neille Sheehan and Gary B. Sheehan of Alpharetta; son, Andrew “Andy” Herbert Turpin, Jr. of Duluth. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kristina Marie Turpin, Andrew Herbert “Drew” Turpin, III; and Trisha Nicole Turpin, their mother, Sandra Cole Turpin, and great grandchild, Aubree Harlow Turpin all of the Atlanta area; and by his sisters, Katheryn Turpin Wood, Louise Meyers, Margaret Nash, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on December 5th, 2014 at 11:30am at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, GA at 11:30am.
