Born in Worcester, MA a son of the late Thomas and Mary (O’hara) Foley, Sr., brother of Richard Foley and his wife Joann, his sister, Mary McCafferty, and his late brothers, David Foley and John Foley. He is survived by his first wife, Phyllis Foley and his children, Deborah Foley, Joshua Foley and his wife Hoa, Susan Dykhoff and her husband Matthew, and Thomas Foley III. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Benjamin and Ryan Haideri, Samuel, Harrison, Violet, and Anna Dykhoff and his great grandchild MinhChan Thao Do. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Upon graduating from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA and New York University, Tom went on to work within the Boys Club organization and became executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Worcester. He coached minor and little league baseball teams in Worcester and was always known to encourage every child to play. He was a member of the Rotary Club and participated in many charitable events. After retiring to Cape Cod, he worked for a number of organizations, including the Special Olympics. He was also able to fulfill his lifelong dream of working at a golf course.
Tom was an avid golfer and sports fan. He enjoyed reading books about history, listening to jazz, and watching classic movies. Tom had many cherished memories of spending time with his family, friends, and many loving pets.
There will be a funeral Mass on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Hopedale, 187 Hopedale St., Hopedale, MA.
