Paul was born on February 20, 1940 in Waltham, MA to Jude and Marie (Robichaud) Arsenault. Paul graduated from Waltham High Class of 1958 and then served 4 years (1958-1961) in the United States Marine Corps with the 3rd Marine Division earning the rank of Lance Corporal.
Paul is a graduate of the Medford Police Academy and received an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Massachusetts Bay Community College. He was appointed to the Waltham Police Department in 1969 and served the City of Waltham for over 25 years receiving numerous personal and unit citations. Paul and his wife resided in Waltham and raised their three children until retiring to the Cape in 1998.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed golfing, traveling abroad, going to Foxwoods, The Villages in Florida and watching the Patriots. He was an American history aficionado and was especially knowledgeable about World War II. Family trivia night was always a favorite. Most importantly, Paul’s top priority was his family. He was the ultimate family man and a true gentleman. Semper Fidelis…Always Faithful. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Paul was predeceased by his wife Jeannette whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
He leaves his children, Robert Arsenault and his wife Theresa of Forestdale, Brenda Arsenault of Salem, and Michael Arsenault of Mashpee; his grandchildren, Darren Arsenault and wife Amy of Hull and Derek Arsenault and wife Allie of Hilton Head Island SC; and his precious great-grandson Luca.
Paul also leaves his brother Alvin Arsenault and wife Joan; his brother-in-law Larry LeBlanc and wife Lois, brother-in-law Roger LeBlanc and wife Regina and brother-in-law Conrad LeBlanc ; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Paul was predeceased by his sister Gloria Norton and husband Frederick, his sister Joan Oberg and his brother-in-law Jean-Charles Bourgeois.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20th from 3pm to 5pm at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA. A funeral service will be at 4:30pm. Burial will be private.
