Kerin "Kerry" Lyons

Kerin E. (O’Brien) Lyons, age 86 of Sandwich passed away peacefully at home on November 15th, 2022. She was the beloved wife of William J. Lyons for 63 years. Loving mother of Kerin Howard of East Sandwich, William Lyons and wife Meghan of Duxbury and Christopher Lyons of Florida. She was grandmother to Hannah, Olivia, Madeline, Abigail, Will, Lindy and Grace.

She was predeceased by her daughters Jo Ann and Amy and her sister Joan Kimball.

After graduating from the Wing School she attended Boston College on an academic scholarship. This is where she met her future husband Bill.

While teaching in New York she appeared for four weeks on the TV show The Price is Right. The Town of Sandwich cancelled town meetings for everyone to watch.

After Bill’s military service ended, they moved to Stoughton for thirty years where she taught at the Hanson School.

In retirement she was a substitute teacher in Sandwich and worked at Filenes for many years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Corpus Christi’s Mary’s Closet ministry.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 22 at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Parish, East Sandwich.

A private burial will be at St. Peter’s cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Mass Cystic Fibrosis Chapter, 2200 N. Main St. Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760-1100.
