John Bernard Colameco

John Bernard Colameco, passed away at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, on Wednesday January 6th, 2016, in his 87th year. Loving husband of 64 years of Helen (Bresnahan). Beloved father of Jay and his wife Cookie, Gerard, John, Jeffery and his wife Linda and Judy and her husband Walter Shaughnessy. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Erin, Shawn, Ashley, Sarah, David, Paul (deceased), Daniel (deceased), Brandon, Brittany, Mariah, Ryan, JJ, Mikaela and Kevin. Great-Grandfather of Shawn, Katlyn, Owen, Adrienne, Adam and Kayleigh. Uncle of Diane Belmonte, James Fuda, Louis Fuda, Susan McCarthy, Terri Bumgardner and Patty Schik. Predeceased his sister Marie Fuda. Son of the late John and Annamarie (Risio) Colameco.

John was born in Quincy, MA on November 23, 1928. John was a Police Officer in both Hull and Norwell. John enjoyed ballroom dancing and competed in numerous competitions.

Friends may call at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA on Sunday January 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will celebrated at Corpus Christi Parish in Sandwich on Monday January 11th at 11:00 am. followed by interment at Saint Peter's Cemetery, Sandwich. The family would like to thank the caring staffs at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Falmouth Hospital and Cape Cod Hospital; as well as the Sandwich Fire Department EMTs and the Sandwich Police Department. The family would also like to give special thanks to Dr. David Lowell, Dr. John Allen, Dr. Julia Craig-Muller, Dr. Keith Bleiler and Dr. Robert Lakatos. Memorial donations may be made in John's name to The Parkinson's Support Network of Cape Cod.
