Butland, Dale D. 76 of East Sandwich, Mass passed away after a brief illness at home surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Mass to the late Donald and Marjorie (Ward) Butland.
Dale grew up in Sagamore Beach and graduated from Bourne High School. He later took over his family’s business at Butland’s Paint Store at the base of the Sagamore bridge, was a volunteer firefighter for the Sandwich Fire Department and participated in Championship muster team of S.F.D. Dale was known for exceptional customer service while employed at local hardware stores for the last 30+ years. Dale passed the love for Disney down to his next generations, was a self-proclaimed “parrot head” and enjoyed family time at the drag strip.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan K. Butland (Jones) to whom shared 52 years together, His Children Jody Coyman (Butland), her husband Donald of Sandwich Mass, Jeffrey D. Butland, his wife Cadence of Falmouth Mass, and Katie Butland, her husband Hunter of Wareham Mass. Dale's youngest fans called him Papa. The 5 Grandchildren, Kayla Prince, Molly Butland, Tyler Coyman, Nathan Coyman, and Lacey Butland all have a special disney memory with their grandfather. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Chance, Chace, Jackson, Baylee, and his beloved golden doodle Tucker.
In addition to Dale’s parents, he is preceded by his sister Elva (Butland) Hutchinson.
A celebration of life will be announced later.
