Rose Marie (Doudna) Bonilla, age 59, passed away on October 2, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Erick Bonilla, three sons, a god-daughter, three grandchildren, a daughter in law as well as her father Ralph Doudna, 3 siblings, in-laws, many nieces, nephews, friends and community. She was also a doting mama to her “fur babies” who were spoiled by her love and numerous treats.
In passing, she is now reunited with her mother, Claudette, her grandma Carmen Robinson, grandfather Roy Robinson and sister in-law, Dede.
Born on May 31, 1965 in Fremont, CA she and her three siblings, Ray, Mary and Edith were raised in Milpitas by their parents, Ralph and Claudette Doudna. She was nicknamed little pumpkin by her father. She was a fighter from the start. After bravely undergoing heart surgery at a young age, she didn't let anything hold her back. With a spirit as strong as her heartbeat, she grew into a rough-and-tumble tomboy who loved playing outside. She climbed trees, raced through mud puddles, and spent hours playing with trucks, always ready for adventure. She was the queen of kickball and war ball. Her resilience and fearless nature shone through in everything she did, proving that nothing could slow her down.
She went on to attend Cosmetology school before shifting career paths and entering the tech industry, where she worked her way up as a manager. Through dedication and perseverance, she built a remarkable career from the ground up, proving that passion and persistence pays off. She earned the respect of her peers and became a well-established and respected leader.
She married her husband and the love of her life, Erick, at the age of 19 years old and together they raised three amazing boys, Anthony, Michael and Brandon.
Rose and Erick raised their sons in the very same home she grew up in and together they supported them in everything they did, from the theater to the baseball and soccer fields to the dojo. She was the ultimate boy mom.
She became a grandmother to Savannah, Kayden, and Katalea and they brought her so much joy.
She was known for her kind and generous spirit and touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother, and a doting grandmother to her beloved grandchildren. Her family was her world, and she dedicated her life to ensuring they felt loved and supported every single day.
She poured her heart into every moment spent with her family, whether it was cheering on her boys, spoiling her grandchildren or creating memories with her husband. Her warmth and selflessness were felt by all, and she had a special way of making everyone around her feel cherished and important.
Her legacy will live on through the love she shared, the values she instilled in her family, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness. She leaves behind a family that will always hold her memory close and honor the beautiful person she was.
A celebration of life for Rose will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
