Rosa was born April 30, 1927, in Trabia, Palermo, Italy to loving parents Antonino and Antonina (Sunseri) La Russa. She was one of three children born to the couple. The family later emigrated to the United States.
Rosa La Russa married Giovanni Piazza and together they created a family. Three boys, Antonino, Salvatore and Giuseppe would fill their home with music and laughter.
Giovanni preceded Rosa in death in June, 2004 and son Giuseppe, in 1988.
A Viewing will be held for Rosa from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, in San Jose, with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Final viewing will occur on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Parish, 580 E. Jackson Street, San Jose. Entombment to follow at 2 p.m. at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara.
Rosa Piazza is survived by her loving sons; Antonino "Nino" Piazza (wife Mimma), and Salvatore Piazza. She was a caring Grandmother to Giovanni (wife Tina), Vincent, Giovanni and Salvatore Piazza and an adored Great-Grandmother to Giuseppe, Francesca and Michelangelo and dear sister to Giuseppe La Russa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonino La Russa and Antonina Sunseri, husband, Giovanni Piazza, son, Giuseppe Piazza and her sister, Angelina Sunseri.
Rosa will be truly missed by her family and close friends.
