Richard was born on October 19, 1936 in Salem, Massachusetts to Alice and Raymond Morin. He joined the Seabees after high school, where he learned the electrical trade. While deployed in Oxnard, California, he met his wife, Joyce, and on June 13, 1959, they married. Together, they raised two sons, Richard and Steve.
Dick was a staunch business man. He purchased what is now the family busines, Ray Scheidts Electric, in 1989 with support from his mother and father-in-law, George and Angie Dickson. During his 20-year tenure as President, he and Joyce grew the business to become one of most well respected electrical companies in the Bay Area.
Despite his busy schedule, Dick always made time for family, and when he was not working you could find him with them. He enjoyed going to the batting range with children and grandchildren and loved a weekend by the pool with them. On some special days, you would find him driving around in his beloved mint condition 1966 Corvette Stingray.
A long-time season ticket holder, Dick never missed a 49er home game or Super Bowl. Every Sunday, he could be found sitting in the stands at Candle Stick Park or glued to his T.V. cheering on his team.
Dick was known for his his serious business-man life spirit and could often be found giving the ‘Morin Look’ - one of extreme seriousness but honesty. People close to him always knew where they stood with him.
Dick was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; mother, Alice; wife, Joyce; 8 of his 9 brothers and sisters; son, Steve; and grandson, Richard III.
