On November 25, 2023, Richard Philip Barbaccia passed away peacefully at age 95 in his home surrounded by family. A lifelong San Josean, he graduated from Lincoln High School, UC Davis and then served in the Army. Richard expanded the family’s nursery business, located on Willow Street, to include commercial landscaping. He owned and operated Barbaccia’s Nursery and Landscaping until he retired. His work ethic was born from the “old country” lessons he learned from his father. Richard knew who he was and what needed to be done. He was a Lion. He was a loving husband to Eileen Barbaccia, his wife of 64 years, and father to Linda Stanford (Larry), Rosann Barbaccia, Susan Quinn (Patrick), Philip Barbaccia (Patty), and Michael Barbaccia (Fernanda). He was a devoted Papa to Courtney, Jeffrey, Kelly, Allison, Amanda, Katlyn, Nicholas, and a Great Papa to Grace. He will be remembered for his unconditional love of all of his family, all of his friends, and for his strong Catholic faith. He enjoyed traveling in his retirement years, golfing, and tending to his garden. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Tuesday, December 5th at 11:30 AM at St. Christopher Church, San Jose.
