It is with great sadness to announce that Nancy L. Fong passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of February 7, 2020 after battling pancreatic cancer for 16 months. Nancy was born on March 23, 1952 in Houston, Texas, the second born child to her parents, Wing K. and Yit O. Lew. She graduated from the University of Houston in 1974 with a BS degree in Nutrition and began her career as a Dietitian at The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. In 1993, Nancy and her family relocated to San Jose, California where she worked in nutritional and aesthetic sales, retiring as a Regional Sales Manager in 2018.
Nancy took great pleasure in helping friends, colleagues, and family. Words that have been used to describe Nancy are: friend, mentor, inspirational, talented, sassy, strong, fun, leader, role model, classy, beautiful inside and out. She truly had a positive impact on many people throughout her life. She was a phenomenal chef, artist, seamstress and gardener. Nancy took great pride in being a Grandma to her four grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Wing K. and Yit O. Lew and older brother Danny. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harry; daughter Lauren, her husband Jon and children, Kirby and Maxwell; and her son, Nathan, his wife Emily and their children Jackson and Sophie. Also survived by her brother, Albert, his wife Terri and their children Heather, Taylor and their families.
Nancy will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. A celebration of life ceremony will be held on March 7, 2020 at 2 pm at Valley Presbyterian Church in Portola Valley, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Cancer CAREpoint at the following website:
