Joseph I. Valdez Jr.

Our wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Sunday October 1, 2017. Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rose of 63 years. Joe was the son of Joseph Sr. and Ucia and brother to Aurora. He is survived by his daughters Darlene (Steve), Connie (Dave) and Joanne (Len), brother-in-law Ben (Mary). Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Julie, David, Brett, Ben and Crystal and great-grandfather of Tyler, Terri, Jadzia, Malcolm, Joseph, Eric, Amelia and Savannah. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a member of St. Victor Parish and the Spanish Heritage Club. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Joe retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 40 years as a Senior Systems Analyst. Joe and Rosie loved ballroom dancing, travelling the world and sharing their lives with their grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation Tuesday Oct. 10, 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St., San Jose. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Victor Catholic Church, 3150 Sierra Rd., San Jose, followed by interment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association preferred.
