Elia Gonzalez Medina

It is with great sadness that the family of Elia Rebeca Medina announces her passing on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the age of 79 years. Elia was born in Guadalajara, Mexico where she worked as a teacher until marrying Joe Medina and moving to San Jose, CA in 1968. She later worked as a certified nurse assistant caring for the elderly and sick until retiring after 30+ years of dedicated service. She enjoyed attending mass and participating in church activities/groups including the Lay Carmelite Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Eucharistic Ministers. Elia is survived by her siblings Margarita, Rosa Alicia & Jesus; children Christina, Claudia, Joe, Carlos and Elisa; and granddaughter Isabella as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church community for their enduring love and support of Elia. The viewing (3 to 6:30 pm) and Rosary (7pm) will be held at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel at 710 Willow St., San Jose on June 31st. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (2020 E. San Antonio St., San Jose) at 10:30am on August 1st with interment to follow at 12pm at Oak Hill Cemetery (300 Curtner Ave, San Jose).
