Diana was born to Sheung Kit Song and Po Shiu Hau in Macau on April 23, 1951. She was the firstborn child among her four siblings. While still an infant, she, her father, and her mother relocated to Hong Kong and grew up there. Growing up diligent and responsible, she worked as a secretary in a local medical office and was the delegate for all their administrative manners.
A devout Christian, Diana always made sure to attend Sunday services and meditate in the Lord, whether she was at home in Hong Kong, or abroad in another country. In the spring of 1990, Diana took a vacation to San Jose, CA to visit friends and family, alongside her mother and sister. While on this vacation, she attended Oriental Christian Center Church and met her future spouse, Willis Dair. Diana and Willis were wed in April 1991. They welcomed their first and only child, Melanie Dair, into the world in December 1991.
Diana was a self-taught and skillful cook and gardener. She loved to try novel recipes and dishes, alongside growing unique vegetable varieties. Her favorite pastimes included reading the Psalms, reading other books, volunteering at church, watching reality TV shows with her husband, and hosting meals with her family and friends.
As a devoted spouse and hardworking mother, she started each day before the family woke up. While enjoying her morning coffee, she would meditate over the daily Psalms and pray. She relished the small simple details of life, such as never failing to savor the cheese stuck to her cheeseburger’s wrapper or attempting gardening experiments from her kitchen scraps. To her family’s chagrin, Diana was often directionally challenged, which often lead to lively family outings, and she insisted that toilet paper rolls should be facing “under,” rather than “over.”
Diana will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Willis Dair, her daughter, Melanie Dair, and her siblings, Winnie Sung, Gilbert Sung, and Albert Sung. Her viewing will take place during Thursday, December 12, 2024, between 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM.
