Dearly beloved husband and best friend of his wife Margaret Monahan Harder, is also survived by Leslie Ann Johnson, David, and Richard Harder. As well as grandchildren, Malcom Johnson, Brian and Evan McKinney, and Christianne, Belen, and Daniel Harder, respectively; and great-grant daughter Indigo Johnson. Richard was pre-deceased by Jacqueline Payton, wife and mother of children. After being raised in Saratoga Springs, NY Rip attended Lincoln University, PA, and Univ. of Penna, followed by a WWII Air Corp enlistment stretched into 28 career years as a pilot and communications staff officer, retiring as Manager, National Systems Management Center, Western Union Corp., ( 3 years) and 10 years as a Management Analyst for The Veterans Administration Regional Office, San Francisco.
Rip’s most coveted of his 22 military awards and decorations are The Distinguished Flying Cross and Legion of Merit. At his request, Richard will be cremated, and no services will be held.
