Whoa, i can't believe Jerry has passed on! Just two years back we were hanging out regularly, smoking good stuff in front of the anarchist bookstore he helped run! And talking about crazy ideas like setting up a sofa (with wheels) in front of the bookstore and doing a live talk show with whomever showed up!

Jerry was a stalwart. I recall him keeping a stand no matter what b.s. was blasted at Wolf Creek (sanctuary)! One of the few, seemingly, with any actual integrity!! He will be MISSED!

So what did JTF pass on from, anyway??

Jerry was a wonderful Step Brother (n' law), Uncle and Cousin to his family.  He was also a great friend to many.   But his carrying of others was above his most outstanding qualities.  He will be missed by so many he touched.  He had a great memory that so many times he could recall the complete conversation so you simply could not argue yourself out of what he said as most of us could not remember any part of the discussion, so we were dead accepting whatever Jerry said as he could have BSed the whole situation but he was so good at what he told you, you simply felt you had to accept what occurred.  As part of his family, we spent countless hours on the phone as Jerry loved to talk and talk.  Part was spent bickering over politics as Jerry had his opinions.  But in the end, he always came back to that warm aspect as he always put someone's welfare ahead of anything.   We already miss Jerry and pray he rests in peace.

I loved how when Jerry would recount an often funny adventure  from his past he would  pause at a friends name and briefly mention when and how they had died (mostly from AIDS) and then continue on with the story.    He was such a good story teller and his brief  acknowledgments of dead friends was always very moving.

While Marty and I moved away from San Francisco in 2015, we would rendezvous with Jerry The Faerie at least twice a year; 
At least twice here in the Twin Cities.  I cannot attend the memorial  on Halloween , but I'll be remembering Jerry and the kindness and wisdom he shared for the rest of my life.

Glad we could toast FDR and his yacht the Potomac in trips to a Jack London winery.  Thanks for the kind memories, sense of humor,  and well spoken mind.

I (Eric) was introduced to the Harry n' John caregiver Circle by way of Tom Christensen, who then introduced me to Jerry the faerie who brought me to my first caregiver's meeting where I met Mark.
He was always welcoming, and always moved in the world with loving kindness. 
The world was a kinder and sweeter place with him in it. 
He will be missed by so many.

I remember Jerry the Fearie as a funny, lighter than life, and truly unique  individual who was always friendly and deeply involved in and caring of his community. He always put others first. When Pride was facing insolvency, he saved the event with a substantial financial commitment to stave off insolvency.  His community needs more like him. I’ll miss seeing him around the Haight and the Castro and at the many community events he frequented. RIP Jerry the Faerie.
