Harold “Bob” Hyman passed away on December 3, 2021. A beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, he was aged 98 years young. He was preceded in death by his Mother Mary Hyman and Father Arthur Hyman as well as his Son David Hyman, Sister Elaine Silverstein and his Son-in-Law Frank Hernandez. He is survived by his Wife of 76 years, Marie Hyman and his Daughter Diana Hyman Hernandez, his Grandson David Hernandez, Granddaughter Jacquelyn Gilbert and Great Granddaughter Gabriella Gilbert as well as Grandson-in Law Jorrell Gilbert.
Harold was born in Oakland, California in 1923. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 1941. He was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts and was a World War 2 Veteran of the Army Air Corps. He also graduated from San Jose State University with a BS Degree and was a photographer for The San Jose Mercury News before he went into business with his Father and Uncle at Dorfman Hat and Cap Company. His career was in the wholesale hat business until he retired in 1988.
“Bob” and Marie traveled around the world several times and visited Japan on business nearly every year. Bob loved golf and golfed in every country he could, including Scotland. He lived a full and happy life and will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
