Wanda Pabian (Silewicz) died peacefully in her sleep at home in San Diego, CA. on Sunday June 20, 2021. Wanda was 97, soon to be 98 in August.
Wanda is survived by her son Paul from San Clemente, CA, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and her son Philip of Manhattan Beach, CA.
She was born in Chicago in 1923 to Sylvester and Josephine Silewicz. She had two brothers, Art and Casey. Wanda graduated from Foreman High School and married her sweetheart, Joe, after he returned from World War II.
Wanda, Joe, and their youngest son, Philip moved to Hayward, California in 1970 and later relocated to San Diego.
Wanda embraced the California lifestyle by taking up golf, participating in numerous dance groups, and holding elected offices in various social clubs. In her later years, Wanda, enjoyed being a member of the Senior’s Group at St. Columba Parish, being active in several card groups, attending TOPS meetings, and trying new restaurants. She carried on and nurtured contact with family members and friends all across the country as she learned technology and the magic of the internet. Wanda loved people and had an insatiable zest for life.
A funeral Mass is scheduled at St. Columba Church (3365 Glencolum Dr, San Diego, CA 92123) on July 10 at 10:00 AM immediately followed by a luncheon reception.
