Susan Alice Johnson was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away at a hospice in Carlsbad, CA on September 21, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 75 years old.
Susan was born on August 2, 1949 in Fremont, Nebraska to Elmer and Alice Faiman. She moved to San Diego when she was nine. After graduating from Crawford High School, Susan earned a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. She then worked in the medical records department of a hospital.
Ten years later, Susan received her Master’s degree from SDSU. She created her own medical record consulting company, spending the next 38 years of her life assuring quality health in long term care facilities throughout San Diego. Susan was generous with her time and her knowledge, frequently helping mentor and educate her peers. And she loved to get gifts for all the attendees of the seminars she taught.
In 1982, Susan married James (Jim) Johnson and they became parents to Alicia in 1983. For 42 years, Susan and Jim remained together through all the ups and downs of life.
Susan had a smile that lit up the room. She was kind, funny, sweet, caring, loving, considerate, giving and selfless. She was always finding ways to help others, even when she needed support herself. To know Susan, was to love her.
Susan loved Disney, gardening, singing, shopping for a good bargain, and her friends and family.
Susan is survived by her husband Jim; a daughter, Alicia; a son, Jeff; a son, Todd; a son, David; a brother, Jack; a grandson, Jack; a granddaughter Grace; a grandson Solomon; a granddaughter Amira; and extended family whom she loved dearly.
She will be missed but not forgotten.
