Sue Carolyn Jones, daughter of Robert H. and Kathryn R. Bledsoe, was born in the town of Anna, Union County, IL, on July 29, 1937, and departed this life at her home in San Diego, CA, on October 16, 2012, at the age of 75 years. Her father predeceased her in 1940. Her mother survives her.
She married her husband, David O Jones, on April 12, 1997, and they spent many happy years in San Diego. They enjoyed golfing and traveling and were always happy to enjoy the wonderful view of the San Diego Bay from their home. When she was diagnosed with cancer, her husband was a faithful caregiver and also provided the best of professional home care for her. He was also aided by many caring Hospice professionals of San Diego.
Sue was previously married to John Tirabasso who predeceased her. She has two daughters of that marriage, Mrs. Jonette Terry Grant and Ms. Christina Kay Tirabasso.
Sue moved to San Diego with her mother Kathryn, and her step-father, Donald Mclntire, in 1952. Mr. Mclntire was a member of the United States Navy. She attended Helix High School where she enjoyed many activities, including song leading. She enjoyed a dancing career prior to being married where she was able to pursue her passion for tap dancing in Las Vegas and Reno and thereafter danced for stars such as Rosemary Clooney, after began a second career as an airline reservationist, working in reservations management in her later years with both Western and Delta Airlines. Sue and David enjoyed many travel cruises in their retirement years and loved to be with her daughters and grandchildren. She loved to cook and play golf. When she contracted cancer in 2003 she was a very brave and courageous patient, always remaining optimistic and surviving the diagnosis by nine years.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 12:00 p.m., at Greenwood Memorial Park in the Mausoleum in San Diego where she was interred near her step-father, Donald Maurice Mclntire.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, David Jones, her mother, Kathryn R. Mclntire, two daughter, Mrs. Jonette Terry Grant and Ms. Christina Kay Tirabasso, two granddaughters, Mrs. Jessica Terry Hundermark and Ms. Ashley Joy Amir, one great-granddaughter, Annie James Hundermark, one sister, Mrs. Julia Ann Moschella, two brothers, Donald Ray Mclntire and Richard Lee Mclntire, three nephews, Fortunato John, Robert Joseph Moschella, Dustin Ray Mclntire, a niece Taylor Rene Mclntire and cousins, Mrs. Jeanne Kathryn Clement and Mrs. Catherine Jane Bush.
