Roberta Mae Isabel

Mrs. Roberta (Aunt Bert) Isabel, 90 passed away April 19, 2025, After Brief Illness. She lived a long and fulfilling life. Born on January 22nd, 1935, she grew up in Versailles, Indiana. She struggled growing up and had a rough childhood but after High School she moved to Fall River, Mass where she met and fell in love with Jack Isabel. The were married on April 6th 1958 and when Jack joined the marines, she traded in the slow country lifestyle and moved to San Diego California where they lived for many years. After Jack retired, they moved to Bass Lake, Ca where Roberta continued to be very active serving as a park ranger to the Bass Lake camping and picnic community. She was very active and was known for walking 5 miles a day to keep in shape. Roberta was a very simple yet strong woman who always put others before her own needs. She never considered herself smart, but she was a very intelligent and strong woman. She was very giving and had a soft heart for others. She inspired many with her kind heart and gentle soul. She loved animals, especially her dogs. After Jack's passing in 2003 she moved back to San Diego where she spent her remaining years. She was especially proud of her Rose bushes. Roberta's love for animals’ lives on and she has asked that in lieu of flowers people please donate to the humane society. Her love lives in our hearts and she will be truly deeply missed. Rest in Peace sweet lady.
