Patrick Kenneth Stewart, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Del Mar, California, on May 29, 2024. Born on March 17, 1931, in Valley Stream, New York, Patrick led a life full of dedication and accomplishment.
Patrick's professional career began in Philadelphia, where he worked as a buyer for Strawbridge & Clothier and met his future wife, Shirley. After their marriage, he joined an advertising agency on Madison Avenue and contributed to the creation of the iconic "Suzie Chapstick" campaign. This success led him to an executive position with A.H. Robins in Richmond, Virginia. In 1978, he joined Conagra, where he skillfully led various business units until his retirement in 1994. Always the businessman and exceedingly generous with his time, he served as a mentor to countless San Diego businesses through volunteering with the Service Corps of Retired Executives all the way through his final days.
Beyond his professional achievements, Patrick was an avid and accomplished golfer. His love for the game was only surpassed by his love for his family. Patrick is survived by his children, Liz Heidler (Jeff) and Chris Stewart (Daphna), as well as 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley, two daughters, Laurie Stewart and Alaina Pavlov, his identical twin brother, Alan Stewart and his niece, Muffie Holliday.
Patrick was well known for his generosity, particularly with his time, always prioritizing the comfort and well-being of his family. His dedication was evident as he lovingly cared for Shirley in her later years. Patrick's legacy of kindness and commitment will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will live on through the many lives he touched.
