Mary was an avid traveler and loved adventure. She travelled the world with her husband of 40 years, living life to the fullest. She always smiled and brought smiles to others. Mary was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and was very active in her Parish at Nativity Roman Catholic Church. Mary is the youngest of four sisters; Josephine Hill, Catherine Warner, and Sister Mary Richard.
Mary graduated from the New York School of Industrial Arts Class in1954 where she studied costume design. She worked for 10 years doing decoupage and gold leaf professionally.
In 1964, Mary began her career with United Airline at JFK Airport in Air Freight. She worked at La Guardia Airport, NY; Rockleigh, NJ; Honolulu, HI and San Diego, CA where she retired after 37 years in 2002.
Mary met her husband Louis in 1959 at Nativity Church in New York City in 1985 and in 1973 they were married. Mary also lived in Flushing Queens where her daughter Ruth was born. The family then moved to Emerson, New Jersey where her son David was born. She worked also with her husband in his business, L&M graphics from 1980-1985. She lived in Europe for five years while her husband Louis was employed with Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection. She lived in Antwerp, Belgium; Rotterdam, Netherlands; and Gioia Tauro, Italy.
Mary is survived by her husband Louis, son David; daughter Ruth, her husband Troy Lupa and their two grandchildren, Aleia and Anthony Lupa.
Mary spent her last three years in Alexandria, VA and her final year on Coronado, CA and although beset by failing health, she remained cheerful and very perceptive. Louis and Mary had a rich, full life revolving around their love for one another, their love for their family, their friends and strong faith.
Mary passed away peacefully and pain free with family at her bedside.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Goodbody Mortuary from 4pm to 8pm with a Rosary Vigil at 7pm.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 7, 2012, at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Commital Service will follow Mass at Miramar National Cemetery at 11:30am.
