Madeleine I. Palid

Madeleine I Palid (nee Leger) went to be with the Angels early Memorial Day morning May 31, 2021. Matriarch, Mother of 17 Children, Grandmother of 38 Great Grandmother of 38. Madeleine is the last surviving member of her Leger family of 18. The Legers immigrated to the US (Detroit, Michigan) from Quebec. Her Parents and Older Siblings were primarily French speaking. Madeleine was predeceased by her Husband Chet, her Daughters: Judy, Germaine(Murphy), her Sons: Thomas, John. Survivors include Daughters: Christine Friedrichs(LG), Janet Pollock(Joe) Suzanne Cherniawski, (Tony), Mary Olson(Jeff), Madeleine Veneklase(Chris), Jacqueline Miller(Colin), Eileen(John). Sons: Michael(Viki), Jesse, Mark(Anna),Chip(Linda), Paul(Marcela), Richard(Valerie). Madeleine graduated from Immaculata High School, Detroit (in one of its early classes after opening) and Mercy College of Nursing(Detroit) (Now UD/Mercy). Madeleine was a passionate Advocate for Education, voracious reader(hundreds of books during Pandemic)Devout Catholic, "All Heart". Madeleine sang in Church Choirs her entire life including St. Michaels Poway, until the pandemic. Madeleine was active in her Nursing Profession and was Nursing Supervisor at the County of San Diego's Edgemoor Hospital when she retired. Madeleine was a renaissance woman who loved: art, music, opera, plays, musicals, literature, other cultures and much more. Madeleine loved to travel and enjoyed Italy and Rome, France, Quebec and more!
