Linda Klers died on March 31, 2015, at her home In San Diego, CA, surrounded by family and friends after a hard fought battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born March 29, 1955, in Ogdensburg NY, relocating to California at the age of six. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary A. Klers, sisters Michele Valent and Kathie Montgomery, brother Morgan Johnson, two nieces, three nephews, five great-nieces and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie P. and Morgan J. Johnson. She also leaves behind her beloved Labradors, Mara and Lucy. Linda graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration degree in 1985 from the University of Phoenix and, in 1990, a Masters in Human Resources Management from the same institution. Her business acumen was developed as she held leadership roles in Accounting, Human Resources and Administration for multiple San Diego corporations. She has held the executive position of Director, General & Administration at SEACON® Brantner & Associates, Inc. for the last 10 years. Linda’s true enthusiasm in life was working with charitable organizations directly helping others. These included the Girl Scouts, YWCA and Soroptimists. Recently Soroptimist honored Linda by renaming the committee project previously known as “House-to-Home” to “Linda’s Legacy Project.” This honors her unmatched commitment to service and personal leadership which was cited as an inspiration to all club members In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Soroptimists “Linda’s Legacy Project.” Direct them to Paula H.
