Lawrence Robinson passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at his home in Rancho Santa Fe, California, on August 2, 2021. Lawrence was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and spent his early years attending school and developing a strong work ethic. Lawrence attended Grinnell College and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He pursued the balance of his education at three law schools and received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado, School of Law. After practicing law in Boulder, Colorado, with the firm of Robinson, Sullivan, and Bullard, he eventually gravitated to a new career in real estate development and investments. Beginning with projects for IBM in Colorado and Arizona, his work eventually expanded into California, Washington State, and Utah. After more than twenty years in real estate projects Lawrence retired to La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe, California, and turned his interests to causes such as the International Relations & Pacific Studies (IRPS) program (now the School of Global Policy and Strategy - GPS) at UCSD and the San Diego Symphony. An Air Force veteran who loved his country, he was also an avid skier and squash/tennis player. He loved his family, friends, and little Willoughby. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Lawrence is survived by his wife, brother, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, three daughters, and three grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Father Flanagan’s Home for Boys (Boys and Girls Town), 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, Nebraska, 68010. Memorial service and funeral arrangements will be made available through El Camino Memorial Park and Sorrento Valley Chapel.
