in Costa Rica on January 20, 1939 and moved to San Diego in 1957. She worked as a Medical
Assistant for San Ysidro Health Center for over 40 years.
Laura loved to travel! Traveling to Costa Rica as often as she could to visit family. Her travels
included cruising, attending the Canonization of several Popes in Rome, visiting the Holy Land,
and traveling through Europe. Still her most favorite was visiting her grandchildren in different
parts of the country, making sure to never miss an important moment as they pursued their
passions.
Her family meant more to her than anything else in the world. Everyone who knew Laura knew
that she was the most loving and caring Mother and Nana a family could ask for. Nana enjoyed
attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities: whether it be sports, dance
recitals, or school functions.
Laura is survived by 4 children: Patricia of Bayville, NJ, Alejandrina (Lila) and her husband
Michael of Bonita, Anthony and his wife Monica of Spring Valley, and Jorge and his wife Cristina
of Chula Vista. Laura also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Kevin, Natalie, Jacob, Luis,
Angelica, Vanessa, Armando, Brittnee, Elianna, and Alysse. She is also survived by her beloved
10 great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Asher, Arya, Arrow, Amari, Bentley, Charlie, Averíe, Blaire,
and Luke.
Laura will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mass will be held at 11:45 on Saturday November 9th at St. Michaels Catholic Church-2643 Homedale St. San Diego, CA
